Samuel Thomas Stanton, Jr, 83, of Heritage Village, died, October 24 at River Glen Health Center. He was the husband of Anna L. Stanton. Formerly of Sandy Hook, he and his wife moved to Heritage Village ten years ago.
Mr Stanton was born May 15, 1922, in Adrian, Mich., son of Samuel Thomas and Harriet (Leach) Stanton. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in 1984.
Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves four sons, Thomas L. Stanton of Oxford, Kurt L. Stanton of Liverpool, N.Y.; Brad L. Stanton of Danbury, and Scot L. Stanton of Somers; two daughters, Dale L. Ambrose of Woodbury and Kim L. Knoefel of Somers; one sister, Dorothy Bishop of Stratford; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held October 27 at Christ Church Quaker Farms, Route 188, Oxford. Arrangements by Carpino funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
