Picard To Demo At Candlewood League
NEW FAIRFIELD â The recently-formed Candlewood League of Artists, a non-profit art organization that offers free art demonstrations monthly for residents of area towns, will host its next program on Monday, March 17, at New Fairfield Public Library. The program begins at 7.
Alain Picard, an award-winning artist based in Bethel, will be this monthâs guest. Mr Picard is an expert in oils and pastels. For his program he will do a portrait demonstration in pastel, selecting an audience member for his model.
Mr Picard graduated from Western CT State University with an illustration degree, and also studied at Art Studentâs League in New York City. He was the recipient of Kent Art Associationâs Best of Show Award in 1999 and 2000 for its annual Presidentâs Show.
He has been published in Pastel Journal, and is a signature member of Connecticut Pastel Society. He is represented by Gregory James Gallery in New Milford.
All are welcome to the Candlewood League event. The library is at 2 Brush Hill Road, next to New Fairfield Public Library. Call Florence Froeder, 746-3077, for additional information.
