The December 28 issue of The Bee incorrectly reported the details of a donation to the Newtown Public Schools. The press release should have stated that Newtown resident Joe Skrzypczak, president and CEO of Oce North America, presented the district with a $4,100 gift from his organization.

A story in the January 11, 2008 issue of The Bee (“NMS Student To Represent Newtown In State Geographic Bee”) gave the wrong placement for Matthew Jensen from the 2007 Connecticut Geographic Bee. Matthew, who was an eighth grade student at Newtown Middle School last year, finished the state-level competition in fourth place.
