Griffin Hosting Two Joint Replacement Talks
DERBY â Each year, more than 500,000 people in the US undergo total joint replacement surgery. Typically, candidates for this surgery are individuals with chronic joint pain from arthritis that severely diminishes their ability to perform normal daily activities.
A newer trend has more and more baby boomers opting for this life-altering procedure, largely because they are an active population getting hurt that cannot or will not accept being in pain or giving up their active lifestyles.
On Tuesday, July 8, at 2:30 pm, and Tuesday, August 12, at 6:30 pm, at Griffin Hospital, Dr Ignatius Komninakas will present, âCoping with Arthritis,â a discussion about arthritis and other causes of joint pain, medications and treatments including minimally invasive techniques, and the latest surgical advances. Staff from Griffinâs Center for Joint Health will also be on hand to talk about Griffinâs unique recovery approach following joint replacement surgery.
