DUI Charge

Police said that while on patrol on South Main Street about 1:07 am January 23, they stopped motorist Brian Engelke, 26, of 9 Grays Plain Road to investigate.

After that investigation, police said they charged Engelke with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right.

Following processing on the charges, police released Engelke from custody on $50 bail for a February 19 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Property Damage

Sometime between 5 pm on January 20, and 9 am on January 21, someone damaged a residential mailbox at 48 New Lebbon Road, police said. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the matter to contact Officer John McCluskey at the police station at 426-5841.
