‘TRADITION OF TEACHING’ TALK FEB. 13

AVV 1-18 #726164

PHILADELPHIA, PENN. — The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ Art-at-Lunch talk on American art and culture on Wednesday, February 13, from noon to 1 pm, will focus on “The Tradition of Teaching.”

On view in the School of Fine Arts Gallery, the exhibition features works by academy faculty whose influence on the direction of American art has been felt not only through their own work, but through the work of the students they mentored and cultivated.

Current academy faculty member and artist Al Gury, also the curator of the show, discusses the legacy of these 36 faculty members, from Thomas Eakins to Arthur de Costa, and the rich tradition of academy curriculum and instruction over the past 200 years.

The academy is at 118-128 North Broad Street. For information, 215-972-7600 or www.pafa.edu.
