IHS To Honor Four During Annual Gala Dinner Dance
DANBURY â Immaculate High School will present its Third Annual Gala Dinner Dance, âAn Evening of Celebration,â on Saturday, March 29, at The Amber Room Colonnade.
On this evening Immaculate will recognize four honorees, âfriends of Immaculateâ and the community. The Nancy K. Dolan Leadership Award will be presented to John Martocci, chairman and CEO of Newtown Savings Bank. Mr Martocci has been a strong supporter of his parish, St Rose of Lima in Newtown, as well as Immaculate High School, Catholic Family Services, and related communities.
The IHS Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Dick Elston, past owner of Elston Business Products. Mr Elston has been a supporter of his church, St Joseph of Brookfield, and the community for more than 50 years; his children have attended Immaculate and he has helped many others in the community to achieve their goal of Catholic education.
Two IHS Distinguished Service Awards will be presented, one to the Reverend Corey Piccinino, now the Pastor at St Mary in Bethel, who served 12 years as spiritual director and student council advisor at Immaculate; and to the family of the late Stephen Kaplanis. Coach âKapâ was head football coach at Immaculate High School for eight years and is also well acclaimed as a leader of DAYO and Pop Warner football for more than two decades in Danbury.
All award recipients are committed to the mission in making Immaculate High School a leader in education, community outreach, and support to its students.
Master of Ceremonies for this yearâs event is Fil Cerminara, president of F&M Electrical Supply Company and last yearâs IHS Distinguished Service Award recipient. The evening will include a formal sit-down dinner, open bar, music by Higher & Higher, and a silent auction.
Immaculate High School is one of Connecticutâs top college preparatory schools preparing young men and women for entrance into colleges and universities around the country.
