Details Announced For Annual HS Computer Programming Competition

HAMDEN — The Computer Science and Interactive Digital Design department at Quinnipiac University will sponsor the fourth annual high school computer programming competition on Saturday, April 5, from 8 am to 1 pm.

High schools may enter one or two teams consisting of a maximum of three students. Student teams will work to solve programming problems and submit them in either Java or C++. Students must be accompanied by at least one adviser.

The registration deadline is Saturday, March 22.

The Computer Science and Interactive Digital Design department will provide each team with a computer. Students may bring references to the competition. The competition will consist of five or six problems ranging from easy to difficult. Judging will be based on whether the submitted program compiles and runs and whether it solves the specified problem.

Students will be given three hours to complete the competition. Lunch, prizes, and an optional tour will follow the competition. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

For more information, send e-mail to Professor Mark Hoffman at Mark.Hoffman@Quinnipiac.edu.
