May Day At New Pond:

WEST REDDING â The public is invited to celebrate May Day with an art history program at New Pond Farm on âFarms in Art.â Drawing from her extensive collection of images, Virginia Bush will offer a taste of the multitude of ways, both beautiful and entertaining, that farms and farm animals have been represented in art over many centuries and up to the present day.
Her program will be offered on Thursday, May 1, from 7 to 8:30 pm.
Dr Bush graduated from Wellesley College , received her PhD from Columbia University, and is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at several colleges in New York and New Jersey, and has written scholarly articles about Renaissance art history and catalogues about modern art, as well as directing art galleries and working in arts administration.
Dr Bush has traveled widely in Europe and the United States , and lived in Italy for several years. Â She has assembled a stunning collection of 30,000 slides, the majority taken from the original art works.
Cost of the program is $12 ($10 for member of New Pond Farm), and refreshments will be served. Reservations are requested; call 203-938-2117.
