Margaret Ashey and Tom Hunt

Margaret Ashey and Tom Hunt are former residents of Newtown. They both graduated from Newtown Middle School and Newtown High School, were in the NHS Marching Band together, were both members of the high school’s chapter of National Honor Society, both were involved in sports… and now they’re going to get married.

Margaret and Tom, who moved to Colorado, are planning a wedding in October in Denver.

Margaret Jane Ashey, who now lives in Denver, is the daughter of Mark A. and Elise P. Ashey of Katy, Texas. After graduating from Newtown High School in 2002, she continued her studies at Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, N.C. She graduated from Wake Forest in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise sciences.

She is currently a research assistant within the AIDS Clinical Trial Unit at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.

Thomas Jonathan Hunt, also a member of the Newtown High School class of 2002, is the son of Steven L. Hunt of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Deborah Rankin Hunt of Alexandria, Va. His studies continued at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va., where he earned a bachelor’s in biochemistry in 2006.

A resident of Boulder, Colo., he is employed as a chemist by T.D.A. Research in Golden, Colo.
