Photos Decorate Municipal Centerâs Hall

Surrounded by their works on display, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club members talked about their photo images hanging this month in the Newtown Municipal Center.
During an opening reception Sunday, October 2, the âNewtown And Beyondâ exhibit showcases photographersâ work. Newtown images and membersâ favorite photos are among the more than 150 pieces hanging in the municipal centerâs main hall until October 27. The exhibit is on display and guests can visit during business hours between 8 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Member Micheline Williams and her husband Martin both perused the scenes on display, including horses, forests, boats, people, and places that decorated the white walls. Near the refreshments table was club President Sandy Schill with her husband and daughter, David and Amelia.
The show is the second annual exhibit for the photography club and provides an opportunity for members to showcase their work, she said. Ms Schill also liked the atmosphere of photographers meeting and interacting during the reception. âSome of the stories behind the pictures are so interesting,â she said.
Parent Cindy Utter and her son Jordan, a high school student and the clubâs youngest member, stood with event co-chair Rhonda Cullens. One of his photos, and also one of First Selectman Pat Llodraâs favorites, depicted the neon green heads of Mallard ducks as they gathered at Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull over the winter, Jordan explained.
âThey were all in the snow,â he said, which really set off their colors. Jordan enjoys photographing wildlife, he said.
