*FREE THOUGHT (née Jen and Kate Moncuse) will open the weekend of musical offerings at Mocha Coffee House. The girls, who perform alt-rock, will be at the Glen Road café from 7:30 to 10 pm.

Singer and composer ANN KLEIN will continue the weekend’s music on Saturday, also playing from 7:30 to 10, and then MIKE GRIFFIN will have a special Sunday afternoon show. Mike’s show starts at 4.

*LOS LOBOS officially announced a summer tour on June 18 and in between shows at the Harley-Davidson 105th anniversary in Wisconsin, a seven-day Rhythm & Blues Cruise in San Diego and even a two-day visit to Walt Disney World, the band will make time to visit Connecticut this summer.

The guys will be at Meadowbrook Park at in Hamden on Friday, July 11, for an early show on their Brotherhood Tour. Los Lobos will be teaming up about a week later with Los Lonely Boys to continue the 36-date tour, with the bands co-headlining at that point, but the bonus for Connecticut fans is that the show in Hamden is a freebie.

The concert, in fact, will be the inaugural one for Hamden Arts Commission’s 2008 summer concert series.

The series will continue each week, and includes Vocal Group Hall of Fame THE FIFTH DIMENSION on July 18;  STARSHIP with MICKEY THOMAS on July 25; and on August 1, one of two groups allowed to use the Temptations name, TEMPTATION REVIEW with vocalist Dennis Edwards.

The park is at 2761 Dixwell Avenue; call 203-287-2546 for details or if weather is questionable. The weather location will usually be Hamden High School.

*Tickets are on sale this morning (Friday, June 27) for TOBY KEITH’s return to Connecticut on Sunday, August 10. Keith will be back at the Dodge Music Center, and this time will have Montgomery Gentry in tow.

In addition to the regular ticket prices of $34.25 for the lawn or $64.25 for reserved seating, promoters are offering two limited time offers: a four pack of lawn tickets is available for $99, or The Hell Raiser Super Saver is $40 for two reserved seats.

Tickets are available online through LiveNation.com, and prices (as usual) don’t include applicable service charges.

*New additions to the schedule at The Webster Theater in Hartford include SEVENDUST with Alter Bridge on Wednesday, July 30 (tickets just went on sale for that one).

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.
