Vipers 5, Team Blanco 3 – After falling behind 2-0, the Newtown Vipers rallied for three runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth en route to a 5-3 victory at Glander Field Saturday. An infield groundout by John Lebinski brought in the first run and Ben Stoller followed with a two-run single to give the Vipers a lead they never relinquished. Patrick Milano led off the next inning with a triple and scored on Jeff Grasso’s single. Richard Sandler smacked a double to complete the Viper scoring. Michael Allwein was the winning pitching, combining with Lebinski, Grasso, Nicky Sajovic and Sandler to limit the opposition to six hits. Joey Coehlo made the day’s defensive gem, snaring a ball in right field and doubling up a runner who left early from second base.

Team Hull 13, Vipers 9 – Jon Hull and Reid Schmidt held the Vipers to one run in the first three innings and Schmidt whacked two hits to lead the HULLS to the win. Grasso led the Vipers with a double and three singles as Cody Gotthardt blasted a triple and made a fine catch in center field.

U8

Bombers 6, Nighthawks 5 – Rhett Ehnot had a first inning homer and another clutch hit in the fourth as Jake Lambert also had a strong day at the plate to lead the Bombers to the win. The Bombers scored four runs in the final inning to put the game away. Kevin Ovendorf and Brianna Baranowski pitched two solid innings for the Nighthawks. Anthony Sodoski powered the offense with two hits and two runs scored. Jordan Marusich and Devon Palilla each had a big hit and scored a run.

Big Red Machine 13, Thunder 6 – Matt Michel stroked three hits and scored two runs to lead the Big Red Machine to the win. Jason Ferrari crushed a three-run home run and Alec Bedini had two hits and turned in a solid defensive effort. For the Thunder, Brandon O’Sullivan had three hits and CJ Landgrebe had another solid game with his first home run of the year. Matt Argraves was spectacular on the mound, pitching a scoreless inning and striking out two batters.
