Sedan And SUV Collide Head-On At Boulevard Bridge

A two-vehicle head-on accident occurred about 2:47 pm February 21 on the bridge that carries The Boulevard over the Housatonic Railroad’s rail line. Police said motorist Ashlee Ross, 18, of 100 Hattertown Road was driving a 2002 Subaru Legacy sedan southward on The Boulevard, as motorist Elizabeth Viglione, 56, of 13 Scenic View Drive was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sante Fe sport utility vehicle northward on The Boulevard. While negotiating a tight curve that leads to the span that crosses the railroad tracks, Ross lost control of the Legacy and crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with the Hyundai, police said. Ambulance volunteers transported Viglione to Danbury Hospital, police said. Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident.
