Meeting A Critical Need

The Bee published a great article on the recent meeting between the Boards of Finance, Selectmen and Education. Thank you for keeping our community informed.  Hopefully, your continuing coverage will encourage more residents to attend these important meetings, which I commend John Kortze for organizing.

I do need to correct a statement reported in the article. I believe that installing turf at Blue & Gold Stadium and constructing a new gym should be approved as part of the proposed high school expansion because they meet a critical need in our school and in our community for improved recreational facilities.

I urge our elected officials to explore further how approving the high school expansion project, as proposed, could meet other needs in our community beyond the education of our children.
