Generous Support For KCC
To the Editor:
On behalf of everyone at Kevinâs Community Center, I would like to thank those who graciously supported Kevinâs Community Center with our recent fundraiser âMozart, Merlot and Mums.â This successful event was due in large part to the generosity of our neighbors and friends in Newtown.
A huge thank you to George and Shane Miller who graciously let us use their home for this event. Thank you to our sponsors, Claris Construction, Newtown Savings Bank, Union Savings Bank, Richard Serbagi, and Taunton Wine and Liquor. The food, which was exceptional, was provided by El Coyote in Monroe, The Inn at Newtown, Kolam, Mona Lisa Restaurant, My Place, Pizza Palace, Sal e Pepeâs, The Villa, and Vivianâs in Waterbury.
Thank you to the merchants who offered to sell tickets at their establishments and to the Sandy Hook Fire Department for loaning us their tent for the event. A special thank you to Richard Serbagi and the Concert Society Chamber Orchestra for providing and organizing the music for the evening, which was enjoyed by over 250 people, and to Doug Wahlberg and Marc Huberman for playing acoustic guitar for the event.
The Jazz Quartet was organized and provided by Rick Baumer and his group. Thank you to Mike Brennan who helped with the event setup and organized the wine distributors along with Yankee Liquors.
And, to all the volunteers who offered a tremendous amount of hours and many months in putting this together, you are much appreciated. Thank you especially to my co-chair Cindy Wahlberg, who without her help and expertise, this would not have come to fruition as successfully as it did.
To Dr and Mrs Taweh, whose vision five years ago has since provided over 2,500 patient visits. We are truly blessed to be able to have this family and this clinic providing free health care in our community. And all of us who contribute to this clinic are all the more blessed!
