EFT/Tapping is stress and trauma relief technique that is an easy to learn, child-friendly tool that provides healing, comfort and resiliency through stressful events of life. Parenting is filled with emotionally intense moments, and EFT can help adults approach these moments with balance and confidence.

The Resiliency Center of Newtown will host a free series of four workshops called “EFT/Tapping For Effective, Peace-Filled Parenting.” The workshop is for those who are in a home where there is constant tension, fighting, isolation or chaos; suffering from lack of sleep; experiencing intrusive or ruminating thoughts; engaging in unproductive or destructive behaviors; find themselves hyper-vigilant or overly permissive with their children; unable to establish sustainable daily routines; and/or feeling like a “bad” parent.

The program will begin Monday, November 3, and continue weekly until November 24. Each session will run from 10 to 11:30 am.

The workshops will be led by Dr Lori Leyden and her team from The Tapping Solution Foundation’s Trauma Relief and Resiliency Project in Newtown. Since December 18, 2012, the foundation has provided training and services for hundreds of Newtown residents including mental health and healing arts professionals, parents, students, educators, and first responders.

Registration is requested and can be done via email to JHolguin@resiliencycenterofnewtown.org.

The Resilience Center of Newtown is at 153 South Main Street; entry is through the lower rear section of the building. Call 203-364-9750 or visit for additional information about the center and its programs.ResiliencyCenterOfNewtown.org

Founded in the aftermath of 12/14, The Resiliency Center of Newtown has a full day of special offerings, including crisis counseling, planned for the third anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shootings. Residents can take advantage of the programs free of charge.
