A Memorable Service
A Memorable Service
To the Editor:
I want to share my enthusiasm for the Newtown Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service, which was held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Sunday evening, November 20. All of the pastors were involved as well as the rabbi and the leader of the Bahaâi faith. It was an uplifting service that began and ended with a patriotic song. We sang the most uplifting hymns during the service.
The combination of choir members from several churches, including St Rose, Newtown Congregational, and Trinity combined with an outstanding sound system was worthy of Broadway. There were donations brought by most of the attendees for the Faith Food Pantry and the monetary offering was for The Newtown Fund. I canât imagine the planning that went into this event as it was flawless. I hope this becomes a yearly event that is so popular that it has to move to the Edmond Town Hall Theater or the high school auditorium.
At the end of the service we were treated by Phil Crevier with sounds from the organ that only he could create. A reception followed. I went home with a smile on my face and contentment in my soul.
Sincerely,
Cathy Sullivan
