The subject of the October 5 Bible Lesson-Sermon is “Unreality.” Golden Text – Romans 13:12 (“The night is far spent the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”) Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm there are readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, followed by testimonies of healing through prayer. “Is God Among Us or Not?” based on Exodus 17:1–7, will be the sermon title at the 10 am worship and Communion service, led by The Reverend Matthew Crebbin, on Sunday, October 5, during the 10 am worship service. He will be assisted by the Reverend Janice Touloukian. The Senior Choir will sing “All Thy Works Praise Thee,” arranged by Charlotte Lockwood, for the anthem, and Betsy Evans will offer a special music presentation during the offertory. There will be a Confirmand and parent meeting at 11:30 am, and a youth meeting (grades 5–12) from 12 to 1:30.

In celebration of Worldwide Communion Sunday, The Reverend Ann Beams will present a message entitled “The House of the Lord” during the 10 am worship service on Sunday, October 5. The Scripture readings will be Psalm 122 and John 14:25–27. Adult Sunday school will begin at 9 with a new series on “Uniform Bible Study” (no advance preparation is needed). Sunday school for elementary grade children starts at the end of the Children’s Sermon; middle and high school students start their class following the full sermon.
