Family: My husband is Sean, and we have three children. Jenny is a senior at Newtown High School. She is 17. Amy is 12, and Peter is 11 years old.
Pets. We have a 2-year-old dog, named Shadow. He is a lab mix and has a nickname â âStinky.â When we found him he had been in the manure at a farm. We have a tree frog, too, that we have had for over a year.
How long have you been in Newtown? We have been here for seven years. We moved here from Wisconsin.
What do you like to do in your free time? I do decorative painting. I really enjoy that. I paint plates and wall hangings, mostly. I draw, too, and I like to read.
Do you have a favorite author? I like Dan Brown a lot. His novels are so mysterious. He keeps you going to get to the end of the book.
What is the best thing about Newtown? This is my third place in America. I grew up in Thailand. This is the most friendly town. The whole community bonds together. The education is very good and we have a good school district.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I would go back to China. Last year was my first visit to China. I liked the Great Wall. It was amazing. You cannot imagine how people built it in the old days. There are so many things to see there.
Who do you most admire? When I studied American History in college, I really liked Abraham Lincoln. I think he did a lot for America and was a great person.
Do you have a personal philosophy? It is a Chinese one, like the one in English that says, âA rolling stone gathers no moss.â I like to keep learning new things.
What do you most cherish? My family and my friends.
