Vandals Smash Auto Glass in Sandy Hook Spree

Police report a vandalism spree happened during the early morning hours of Sunday, August 18, when someone intentionally damaged motor vehicles that were either parked in driveways or parked on roads near homes in Sandy Hook.

Police received the first call about vehicular vandalism from a Founders Lane resident at 3:11 am Sunday.

Other areas where such vandalism occurred include Far Horizon Drive, Bennetts Bridge Road, Charter Ridge Drive,  Paugussett Road, Jeremiah Road, and Clapboard Ridge Road, police said.

The vandal or vandals used an unknown blunt object to smash windows on the vehicles, police said. The locations at which the damage occurred appear to be random, police said.

An estimate of the dollar value of the damage was not available.

Police are investigating the incidents and ask anyone with information on the matter to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.

Officer Adam Greco is investigating the incidents which are collectively known as Case #2013-11859.
