Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Ricardo Murillo, 27, of Stratford turned himself in at the police station on the night of December 3, and was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court, driving while under suspension, and with a turn signal violation, police said.
The original charges stem from an incident that occurred in June 2005, according to police.
After he posted $500 bail, police released Murillo for a December 18 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Snow-Covered Road
While traveling southward on snow-covered pavement near 237 Hattertown Road at about 10 am November 30, motorist Joan Vecchia, 47, of Bethel, who was driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra, was negotiating a curve but skidded on the slippery surface and entered the northbound lane, police said.
The Nissan then collided with northbound motorist Stephen Paine, 42, of Milford, who was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Vecchia for traveling too fast for conditions. Additionally, police said they issued Vecchia a summons on charges of driving without automotive insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle.
