Tanya Whippie, daughter of Larry and Linda Whippie, was elected to the University of New Hampshire chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest scholarly honor society in the United States. Tanya, NHS Class of 2004, is majoring in classics and linguistics at the Durham, N.H., university.

Michael Compagnoni, son of Charles and Maureen Compagnoni, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Albion College, Albion, Mich. Michael, NHS Class of 2004, is majoring in political science with a concentration in the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service.

Lee Sandberg, son of JoAnn Sandberg and Nicholas Naglieri of Brushy Hill Road and Allan Sandberg, Hackensack, N.J., served as an intern with the office of Senator Edward Kennedy for the month of May, working on issues of labor, immigration, and the shrinking middle class in America. Lee, NHS Class of 2004, just completed his junior year at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., where he studies industrial and labor relations. This September, he will begin an internship with NBC in its Washington, D.C., offices.

Michael Pressmar, NHS Class of 2004, graduated from Gibbs College, Norwalk, with an associate’s degree.

Kristen Michelle Amodeo, NHS Class of 2006, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Mitchell College in New London.

Lindsay Anne Beck, NHS Class of 2006, was named to the Commendable Scholars list for the spring semester at Mitchell College in New London.

Tierney L. Carey, NHS Class of 2005, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt. Tierney is majoring in business administration.

Ryan Knapp of Sandy Hook has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester Syracuse University’s L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science. Ryan is majoring in mechanical engineering.
