To Participateâ
Middle School
Madness Finalé
Children entering grades 6-9 this fall still have time to participate in Middle School Madness, a summer reading program sponsored by C.H. Booth Library in Newtown.
Sign up and submit raffle tickets as you read this summer. Each 50 pages read counts as one âbook.â Each total of 150 books will earn a llama, and 120 books a goat, for The Heifer International Read To Feed Program. The established philanthropy donates livestock to families in underdeveloped countries to raise their standards of living.
On August 14 all readers will be invited to the Middle School Madness Finalé, a party with snacks and discussions of this yearâs favorite books, drawings for special prizes, and a sneak preview of some of the libraryâs autumn programs. All raffle tickets handed in by August 14 will be eligible for the drawings. Tickets handed in through August 16 will still count toward the animal donations, so keep reading.
The library, at 25 Main Street, can be contacted at 426-4533. Information is also available at the main floor circulation desk or the desk in the childrenâs department.
