Itâs not too late to join thousands of Daisy Girl Scouts across Connecticut who gather at schools, churches, and town halls to make lifelong friends and share in activities.
Daisy Girl Scouts is an organization that promotes meeting new friends, doing fun projects, and earning Daisy Petals, hands-on educational activities that teach young girls fundamentals of Girl Scouting. Ten colorful petals may be earned after a Daisy Scout learns things like the Girl Scout Promise and learns about the Girl Scout Law, along with other things like honesty and helpfulness.
Daisies are the first level in Girl Scouting where girls discover themselves and the world around them, connect with others locally and globally, and take action to make the world a better place. As a Daisy Girl Scout, a girl will learn the basics of Girl Scouting through games and role play, work with her leader to make decisions about their troop, and interact with her community through service projects such as making get well cards for the sick and other fun activities.
A typical Daisy Girl Scout meeting begins with a premeeting until everyone arrives, then an opening where the Girl Scout Promise is recited, followed by the Girl Scout Daisy Circle where troop matters are discussed, then the main program activity, a snack, and ending with a closing ceremony.
Girl Scouts of Connecticut is the largest girl-focused organization in the state. All girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade are welcome to join. Adult volunteers are also needed to support this growing organization. For more information or to find out how you can sign up, contact the membership separtment at 800-922-2770.
