Rudolf            Jurman, Jr
Rudolf Jurman, Jr, 70, of Monroe, beloved husband of Jeannette Subik Jurman, died March 8 in St Vincentâs Medical Center. Born in Yugoslavia and raised in Austria, he had moved to New York and later Fairfield and had been a Monroe town resident since 1963.
Survivors, in addition to his devoted wife, Jeannette, include his children: David Rudolf Jurman and his wife, Brenda, of Newtown; Lisa J. Cedergren and her husband, Robert, of Sandy Hook; Christopher Michael Jurman of Newtown, Kenneth Stanley Jurman and his wife, Laura, of Rockville, Va; Jacqueline Jurman Van Onselder and her husband, Robert, of Wake Forest, N.C., and Stephen Werner Jurman of Bridgeport; a sister, Anita Frkanec of Monroe; and brothers, Stanley Jurman of Fairfield and Werner Jurman of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren, Gregory Douglas Jurman, Erik Rudolf Jurman, Anna Claire Jurman, Britta Elyse Cedergren, Hunter Jacob Cedergren, Gunnar Bryce Cedergren, Brooke Anna Ven Onselder, and Andrew Robert Van Onselder.
Mr Jurman had served in the US Marines and was a member of the VFW Post of Monroe. He had been the retired proprietor of Jurman Metrics Inc. He enjoyed world travel especially throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and the occasional trip to Las Vegas.
Mr Jurman will be lovingly remembered for his wry sense of humor; his âuniqueâ and interesting gifts and his love for his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, at 11:30 am directly at St Judeâs Church, Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, with burial to follow in Monroe Center Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, March 10, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Lesko and Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield.
Memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
