Jacob-Chaudhary The Better Choice
To the Editor:
We have lost compromising in our political system. The Founding Fathers created a system that invited opposing opinions and required compromise. A historical review of Hamilton, Franklin, Washington, and others will show you democracy is based on compromise.
However, over the last few years the Democrats and the Republicans have considered compromise to be a dirty word. This has resulted in stalemates in which nothing gets done. Some might think that our politicians getting nothing done is a good thing. However, we live in a rapidly changing world and our federal, state, and local laws and policies need to adapt. If we want to avoid ever-increasing residential taxes while still improving our roads, educating our children, and providing community services, we will need to be creative.
Mary Ann [Jacob] and Neil [Chaudhary] have a track record of being willing to work with both sides and being creative. They don't always tow the party line and instead seek what is best for our community.
If you are looking to solely support your party whether their position is right or wrong you might not vote for Mary Ann and Neil. However, if you want candidates who are more interested in improving our community than whatever the party line is, and candidates that will work with both sides, Mary Ann and Neil are the right choice.
Please remember to vote, September 12, 6 am to 8 pm.
Sincerely
Michael J Wiley
