Clock Experts Join Fairfield Auction
Clock experts Howard Cohen and Tom Manning have joined Fairfield Auction to help coordinate clock and music box sales.
âWith Howard and Tom we are now able to bring a very high level of service to the clock collecting community. They both have tremendous reputations and expertise, which we respect a great deal,â stated gallery owner Jack DeStories.
Howard Cohen began collecting clocks nearly 30 years ago. He is a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors as well as the Philadelphia, New England and Connecticut chapters. He retired as a professor at the University of New Haven in 2008 and is a part-time faculty member at Yale School of Medicine.
Tom Manning has been collecting clocks, primarily by wooden works makers, for more than 30 years. He is also a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and is the former director of The American Clock and Watch Museum in Bristol.
A large antique clock auction is scheduled for the fall.
âWe plan on putting together a sale of at least 300 fine clocks with a promotional effort reaching every collector in the country. One very good collection has already been put under contract and we are working on more,â said Mr DeStories.
