Begg First Among 226 Women In Shamrock 2 Mile Run

Newtown’s Erin Begg won the 7th Annual Shamrock 2 mile Run in Bristol on March 21. Begg ran the race in a time of 12:33, a pace of 6:16 per mile on a hilly course. She placed first among the 226 women in the race and 18th overall among 432 runners. Begg, 14, is a freshman at Newtown High School, and plans on running the 2 mile distance event for the Nighthawks’ track and field team this spring.
