Christopher French, son of Cathy and Thomas French, was named to the spring term Dean’s List at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. Inclusion on Hartwick’s Dean’s List is an indication of excellent academic work, including the completion of a full course load with at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.

Amanda Sharpe was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2009 semester at Fairfield University. Amanda will be a sophomore at the university in the fall.

At Franklin & Marshall College, in Lancaster, Penn., Katherine Datin, daughter of Michael Datin and Cynthia Datin, and Elizabeth Cole, daughter of Jerry Cole and Sheila Cole, were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2009 semester.

Several residents from Newtown and Sandy Hook were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Delaware, in Newark. Newtown students on the university’s Dean’s List were Julie Cynthia Landin and Lindsay Emma Weber. Sandy Hook residents on the Dean’s List were Blake William Bell and Samantha Michelle Friedman.

 Andrew Hall received a master of arts degree in mathematics education from Western Governors University, an online nonprofit university, on July 11.

Fairfield Prep recently announced its Final Honors for the 2008-2009 school year. The following Newtown and Sandy Hook residents earned Summa Cum Laude on the Final Honors list at the school: Connor E. Byrne, Jack A. Curry, Andrew J. Golankiewicz, Michael P. Gould, Joshua J. Jowdy and Gabriel J. Sim. The following students earned Magna Cum Laude on the Final Honors list: Sofian Ahtchi-Ali, Ryan P. Cahalane, Daniel B. O’Rourke, George L. Trudell and Peter E. Walsh. The following students earned Cum Laude on the Final Honors list: Ryan J. Crowell, Timothy N. Culligan, Michael P. Giglio, Andrew R. Hyland, Michael T. Kira, Ian A. McEmber, Jack W. McManus, Colin J. Morris, and Ryan C. O’Keefe.

Rebecca L. Slosson was named to the Siena College’s, Loudonville, N.Y., Dean’s List for the spring 2009 semester. To be named on the Dean’s List, a students grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.
