Patriotic Motorcade In New Milford
Patriotic Motorcade In New Milford
A patriotic motorcade will take place Saturday, November 17, rain or shine, beginning in New Milford at 12:45 pm.
The motorcade is meant to show support for the countryâs military, President George W. Bush, and gratitude to the men and women of fire and police departments, including those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack.
Everyone is invited to participate and to decorate their cars to show their pride in being Americans.
In the New Milford area, participants will assemble at Pettibone School at 12:45 pm. Those from other towns should meet in Brookfield at Kohlâs upper parking lot next to the closed movie theater, at 1:30 pm.
The motorcade will be escorted by the New Milford police to the Brookfield border. It will then continue with Brookfield police to Kohlâs to meet up with the vehicles from the other towns. The motorcade will then go via I-84 accompanied by State Police to Exit 5, down Main Street in Danbury, where it will be escorted by Danbury police to the War Memorial, then return to Kohlâs. Weather permitting, the motorcade will conclude with a small ceremony at Kohlâs upper parking lot.
The motorcade is sponsored by various veteran organizations and community members.
