Absentee Ballots Available

Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia advises Newtown voters that absentee ballots are available for the Municipal Election to be held in Newtown on November 3, 2009.  Any qualified registered voter may vote by absentee if unable to vote in person due to:

*Active US military service (Please contact the town clerk’s office with the address of family member(s) currently serving abroad.)

*Illness or physical disability

*Absence from town during voting hours

*Religious beliefs which forbid secular activity

*Service as an election official at a polling place other than his/her own polling place

The applications for absentee ballots are available at the town clerk’s office, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.  

Due to the pending move of the town clerk’s office, special hours for absentee voting will be held on Saturday, October 31, from 9 am to noon, at the town clerk’s office at 45 Main Street in Edmond Town Hall and the new Newtown Municipal Center at 3 Primrose Street in Fairfield Hills.
