Kenneth Lawrence Wilkinson, Jr, 96, of Southbury, died peacefully, May 9. He was born June 30, 1914, to Norma Schmidt Wilkinson and Kenneth Lawrence Wilkinson, in East Orange, N.J.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he was a member of the winning 1936 rowing crew, an achievement he spoke of with pride all his life. He spent his career in international marketing for the aviation industry.
After his retirement, Mr Wilkinson was involved in numerous community activities in Newtown, including Meals On Wheels and the C.H. Booth Library. In 2005, he and his wife moved to The Watermark at East Hill in Southbury, where he enjoyed making new friends and participating in sports activities.
He leaves his beloved wife of 74 years, Heloise (Weber), four devoted children, eight adored grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two siblings.
A celebration of his long and full life will be held at The Watermark at East Hill in Southbury, in June.
