Weller Foundation Announces 2010 Excellence In Teaching Award
WOODBURYâ The Weller Foundation, Incorporated has announced teachers of grades kindergarten through fifth currently teaching in the public school systems of Newtown, Easton, Monroe, and Trumbull who have developed a successful curriculum project that was implemented in the classroom as part of the curriculum during the current or previous academic year are eligible to apply for The Weller Excellence in Teaching Award, formerly called the Weller Outstanding Teacher Award.
The awardâs purpose is to recognize the teaching quality and innovation exhibited by classroom teachers of grades kindergarten through fifth.
Entrants are required to submit a completed application form prior to March 1. A panel of judges from each town will select its town recipient.
The recipients will be honored at an awards banquet, scheduled for May 3 at Fairfield University. Each recipient will receive a $500 check and a certificate of honor.
