Having A Ball At The Giorno & Harmon Tourney

The 7th Annual Giorno & Harmon Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament was held at the Newtown Youth Academy on November 28. The tournament is held in honor of John Giorno, a good friend of the Newtown Basketball program, who succumbed to cancer in 2002, and Kim Harmon, former sports editor at The Bee, who was lost to heart disease in December of 2007. All proceeds of the tourney will be distributed to the Giorno Scholarship Fund and the Harmon Family Fund. Run by John Quinn, the day-long tournament provided a fun-filled basketball setting for boys and girls of all ages. All ticket and silent auction winners will be notified by the tournament committee.
