Joseph A. Heneghan, 88, of Prospect, formerly of Newtown, died November 25. He was born in Trumbull, May 2, 1921.
He was married to Ann Marie Sullivan on April 19, 1952.
Mr Heneghan served courageously in the Armed Forces in the European theater during World War II. He remained an active member of the VFW. He spent his career in construction as a large crane operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years; ten children, Joseph Heneghan Jr, Kathleen Blersch, Thomas Heneghan, Michael Heneghan, Marguerite Heneghan, Kevin Heneghan, Joanne Silvestri, Maureen Heneghan, Timothy Heneghan, and Mary Romeo; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Smith and Bertha Kiernan.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held December 2. Burial followed in Connecticut State Veteransâ Cemetery, Middletown.
