Holiday Festival & Weekend Events
The first weekend of December is traditionally one of the busiest in Newtown, beginning with the tree lighting ceremony at Ram Pasture on Friday, continuing with myriad activities on Saturday, and concluding with the annual Holiday Festival and additional events on Sunday. Details on most events are offered throughout this weekâs issue of The Newtown Bee, but a listing of the events and details is offered here for ease of planning.
Friday, December 4
Annual St Rose Christmas Boutique, 6â10 pm, St Rose Parish Hall, 46 Church Hill Road, $5 (Friday only, includes wine and cheese, refreshments and desserts, live music), holiday decorations, gifts for teachers and friends, Irish booth and more, continues to December 6; 203-426-1014.
Tree Lighting, gathering begins 6:30 pm, lighting at 7, Ram Pasture, Elm Drive at Hawley Road, townâs tree lighting will include live music, caroling, visits with Santa & Mrs Claus, hot cocoa; note Elm Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Saturday, December 5
Newtown Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast, 8 amâ1 pm, Edmond Town Hall Alexandria Room, 45 Main Street, $7, $3 for ages 10 and under, all you can eat fundraiser.
