About 3:15 pm March 2, motorist Lori Lane, 42, of Brewster, N.Y., was driving a 2002 Honda CRV southward near 45 Main Street, just behind southbound motorist John McDermott, 24, of Bethel, who was driving a 2001 Subaru Forester station wagon, police said.
The Honda then struck the Subaru from behind, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said they issued Lane an infraction on charges of failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, distracted driving, operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile electronic texting device, and failure to wear a seatbelt. Police said they also gave Lane a written warning for a driverâs license violation.
