WISE Seminar Offering Guidance On Earnings, Assets

FAIRFIELD — Are you or a loved one on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and thinking about working? Do you want to learn how work will affect Social Security and State Benefits? Would you like information on increasing your income and assets?

On Wednesday, April 7, NAMI Fairfield’s First Wednesday of the Month Speaker Meeting will host a free Work Incentives Seminar Event (WISE). The event will take place in the Eliot Room Library at First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Road, from 7:30 to 9 pm.

The meeting is free of charge and open to all. Refreshments will be served.

NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Its goals are to support those living with mental illness and their loved ones, to provide educational programs to the community that foster understanding and healthy living, and to provide advocacy.

Thousands SSI and SSDI beneficiaries have learned how to stay in control of their benefits while enriching their lives through employment. Learn how by participating in a Work Incentive Seminar Event (WISE). WISE are events that provide you and your family the opportunity to learn how to take advantage of Social Security Work Incentives, including Ticket to Work.

These events are held for Social Security beneficiaries, their families, case managers, etc, to learn more about available work incentives that you may be able to use.

Employers, Vocational Rehabilitation, Protection and Advocacy Services, Employment Networks and other employment support providers are invited to these meetings to share information about available services and opportunities for beneficiaries in the community.
