When 'No' Means No More
When âNoâ Means No More
To the Editor:
Itâs pretty upsetting that my No vote on the budget referendum no longer means that Iâm opposed to higher taxes, or that Iâd like to see more government fiscal responsibility.
Apparently now only in Newtown a No vote means higher taxes. Everywhere else cities and states are cutting budgets, by reducing payrolls, cutting unnecessary programs and making hard choices. But not in Newtown, a No vote means higher taxes. Make your No vote count, call the town selectman and tell them your No vote means less taxes; apparently they forgot.
