Church Hill Road
Church Hill Road
Police report that a two-vehicle collision occurred near 67 Church Hill Road about 9:34 am February 5.
The accident involved motorist Alexander Perry, 20, of Medford, Mass., who was driving a commercial 2007 Ford Ranger pickup truck, and motorist Linda Curcuruto, 51, of 28 Whitewood Road, who was driving a 2005 Honda Pilot, police report.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Perry for failure to grant the right of way.
Main Street Collision
At about 2:42 pm February 1, motorist Robert Vannatter, 35, of Danbury, who was driving a 1992 Oldsmobile sedan northward near 77 Main Street, stopped for a school bus, which was standing in the southbound travel lane there, police said.
Northbound motorist Maria Santos, 56, of Danbury, who was driving a 1997 Nissan sedan, then struck the rear end of the Oldsmobile, police said. There were no injuries.
Police gave Santos a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. Police said they issued Vannatter a motor vehicle registration violation.
Hawleyville MVA
A two-vehicle accident occurred on Hawleyville Road, at its intersection with Mt Pleasant Road, about 12:30 pm February 5, police said.
In that collision, motorist Jarir Aburabia, 32, of Meriden, who was driving a 2006 Ford E-350 van, collided with the rear end of a 2003 Saturn station wagon driven by Christine Gerety, 46, of 28 Juniper Road, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Aburabia violations for following too closely and for failure to renew a driverâs license.
Fairfield Hills
Police report they charged a man with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespassing following an incident at Fairfield Hills about 5 pm February 10.
Police said they charged motorist Robert Rodrique, 34, of Wethersfield with the offenses after the vehicle that he was driving became stuck in some mud behind Litchfield Hall. Rodrique had been driving on a lawn there and caused an estimated $250 worth of turf damage, police said.
After posting $200 bail, police released Rodrique for a February 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Truck Off Road
Police report that at about 11 am on February 6, trucker James Killian 51, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., who was driving a commercial 1999 Dodge BR-2500 truck southward on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Great Ring Road, told them that he had just encountered a small, white noncontact vehicle that had pulled onto Berkshire Road from Great Ring Road.
The white vehicle blocked the southbound lane, so Killian swerved into the northbound lane to avoid a collision, but then hit a utility pole and a residential mailbox along the northbound road shoulder, police said.
Killian was not injured. Police said the noncontact vehicle was not found. Police issued Killian a written warning for failure to drive to the right.
Fail To Respond
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Richard H. Temple, 20, of 197 Walnut Tree Hill Road went to the police station on the afternoon of February 9, and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction and with possession of alcohol by a minor, police said.
Police said the original alcohol charge stems from a June 2007 incident. After posting $150 bail, Temple was released for a February 26 court appearance, police said.
Sandy Hook Crash
Police report a two-car collision at the intersection of Bennetts Bridge Road and Zoar Road about 3 pm February 8.
The accident involved motorist Devin Klien, 26, of 33 Russett Road, who was driving a 1998 BMW 528-i sedan, and motorist Ryan Dilworth, 17, of 57 Charter Ridge Road, who was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Passat sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Klien an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

Three Vehicles
Police report a three-vehicle collision near 47 Main Street about 10:20 am February 10.
Southbound motorist Samantha Canfield, 35, of Southbury, who was driving a 2003 Pontiac coupe, stopped for traffic conditions, after which southbound motorist Samantha Gally, 23, of Huntington, who was driving a 2004 Subaru Legacy sedan, stopped behind the Pontiac, police said.
Motorist Evan Enriquez, 17, of Westport, who was driving a 2002 Audi A-4 sedan, then struck the Subaru from behind, pushing the Subaru into the rear end of the Pontiac, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Enriquez an infraction for following too closely.
Dodgingtown MVA
About 1 pm February 9, motorist Steven Bugnacki, 29, of Bethel, who was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion northward on Hattertown Road, stopped at a stop sign at that roadâs intersection with Dodgingtown Road, police said.
Northbound motorist Tyler Mahoney, 19, of Bethel, who was driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, then struck the Ford from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Mahoney for following too closely.
Hawleyville Crash
About 11 am February 10, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Hawleyville Road, at its intersection with Mt Pleasant Road, police report.
In that collision, motorist Robert Hanson, 29, of Bethel, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck, struck the rear end of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-240 driven by Joanne Sherwood, 44, of 58 Robin Hill Road, police said. Sherwood was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation, police said. Hanson received a written warning for following too closely, police said.
School Bus
Police report an accident between a truck and a school bus carrying student passengers on Little Brook Lane about 9 am February 8. There were no injuries, police said.
Susan Hickey, 45, of 41 Brushy Hill Road was driving a 2001 International 3800 school bus, and motorist Gregory Ramos, 38, of Danbury was driving a 1998 International truck, police said.
Police said the school bus was headed northward on Little Brook Lane when it encountered the southbound truck. The truck then stopped for the school bus. The school bus attempted to pass by the stopped truck, but the two vehiclesâ left rear-view exterior mirrors collided, police said. Â
Police verbally warned Hickey for failure to grant one-half of the roadway.
South Main Street
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the hazardous intersection of South Main Street and Prospect Drive about 11 am February 6.
Motorist Cesar Mejia, 26, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 1988 BMW 528 sedan southward on South Main Street, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the BMW was struck from behind by southbound motorist Sieglinde Dibner, 41, of Southbury, who was deriving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, police said.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Dibner for following too closely.
Fallen Object
State police report that motorist Katie Rodrigues, 21, of Brookfield was driving a 2005 Scion TC westward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, on the night of February 10, and was traveling behind a westbound pickup truck, when a large truckbed liner fell off the back of that truck and onto the highway.
Rodrigues swerved to avoid a collision with the large fallen object, but lost control of the Scion, skidded onto the highwayâs median and struck some guardrailing, state police said.
The truckâs driver apparently was unaware of what had occurred and continued driving westward, state police said. The truck remains unidentified.
Rodrigues was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and received minor neck/back injuries, state police said. Newtown ambulance volunteers transported her to Danbury Hospital to be checked. State police verbally warned Rodrigues for failure to wear a seatbelt.
