Vote To Move Forward

To the Editor:

I would like to express my support for the budget and encourage all to vote on Tuesday. Although $200,000 was restored to the education budget, I fear that it will be insufficient to offset the anticipated decreases in state education proceeds given the expected shortfalls at the state level next year.

Nonetheless, I vote to move forward and work with what we have and do the best we can. I would again strongly encourage a specific long-term education plan which includes the necessary funding to accomplish it. We have long-term plans for fire trucks, police cars, bridges, etc. Seems we can have a similar long-term education plan that includes financials.
