Local Leaders To Be Honored At Jewish Federationâs Community Breakfast
SOUTHBURY â âUnity Through Diversityâ will be the theme when The Federation-Jewish Communities of Western CT, Inc hosts its annual Community Breakfast and Campaign Kickoff on Sunday, August 22, at 9:30 am, at 444 Main Street North. Local leaders from eight different constituent organizations will be recognized and honored, and the featured speaker will be Deborah Grayson Riegel, MSW.
Yossi Kosher Catering of South Windsor will provide the breakfast.
Rob Zwang, executive director of the Federation, is very excited about this yearâs event.
âFor thousands of years, the Jewish community has struggled to survive and has thrived. We need to continually look at and take stock of the diversity that our community members represent,â said Mr Zwang. âWe truly appreciate and value what our Jewish community members reflect, and we want to work to support and strengthen our institutions to meet this new generation of Jewish life.â
This yearâs honorees are Judy Mirrer, Jane Salomon, and Lois Zeidler from Bânai Israel; Sherman London of Beth El; Susan Haber and Sharon Ruchman of the Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life; Bobbi Gianat of Heritage Village Hadassah; Gerry and Noa Miller from Bânai Shalom; Iris Burkman of Waterbury Hadassah; Leonard Nath of Yeshiva Kâtana; and Dolores Smith and Babs Rachells of the Jewish Culture Club.
Featured speaker Deborah Grayson Riegel helps Jewish organizations, corporations and individuals achieve personal and professional success as the head coach of MyJewishCoach.com. She writes the âSuccess without the Tsurisâ column for The New York Jewish Week. She was the director of education and training for The Mandel Center for Leadership Excellence at United Jewish Communities (UJC), where she developed innovative training programs for Federation professionals and lay-leaders.
The cost of the breakfast is $18 per person in advance or $20 at the door, space permitting. Reservations are requested by August 16 and can be made by contacting Cynthia Burger at 203-267-3177, extension 106, or sending email to CBurger@jfed.net.
