An Extraordinary Couple
An Extraordinary Couple
To the Editor:
On behalf of the C.H. Booth Library Board of Trustees and the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library, we express our sincere appreciation for the multitude of contributions made by Peter and Pat Marshall.
Rarely is a town blessed with a couple that is willing to give so much of their time and talents, and Newtown and the C.H. Booth Library have been enriched because of their support and hard work.
We thank Peter, who as library treasurer spent countless hours at various town meetings explaining the libraryâs finances. He created a streamlined version of accounting in the monthly reports presented at the library board meetings that enabled board members to understand the various complicated aspects of the budget. He also found time to be an active, contributing member on a variety of various committees. We will miss his quiet charm and sense of humor as he explained budget numbers to us!
We thank Pat, who walked into the book sale sorting room several years ago asking if help was needed. It didnât take long before her marketing expertise, knowledge of books, pleasant demeanor, and leadership qualities became apparent. Pat quickly became a valued Friendsâ member, serving as book sale co-chair, supervising the Book Nook, and serving as secretary on the Friendsâ board.
We wish Peter and Pat Marshall a happy, healthy, and wonderful new life in Nevada. Hendersonâs gain is Newtownâs loss. Be well.
