Evelyn Pettit Brunetti

Devoted To Family

And Friends

Evelyn Pettit Brunetti, 84, of Brookfield, died at her home, June 6, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 24, 1926, in Danbury, to Elizabeth (Kominack) and Louis Pettit.

Her greatest love was her family, and she leaves her children William Brunetti, Sr, and his wife, Joanne, of Newtown, and Robert Brunetti, Sr, and his wife Ramona of Goshen; four loving grandchildren; two treasured great-grandsons; two sisters-in-law; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews. She leaves a very special friend, Leonora Cerullo.

Mrs Brunetti was an avid roller skater and treasured the memories she made skating with her husband, Mitzie, and her many friends. She loved her job as quality control inspector for Davis & Geck, where she worked until her retirement in 1986. She had a great sense of humor and will always be remembered for her wonderful summer pool parties, and her beautiful crocheted afghans. She was a dedicated member and officer of AARP Chapter #3340 and the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge. The family takes comfort knowing she is reunited in heaven with her husband of 53 years, Modesto “Mitzie” Brunetti.

Her family would like to especially thank her caregiver and angel, Avis Chambers, and the compassionate, dedicated staff of Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut for enabling Mrs Brunetti to continue on her journey with dignity and respect.

Donations in her memory may be made to: The SDS/MSA Support Group, 8311 Brier Creek Pkwy, Suite 105-434, Raleigh NC 27617, to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut at regionalhospicect.org, or to the Mayo Clinic, ATTN: Development, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville FL 32224. Please note on the check “For the Brain Bank in FL in memory of Evelyn Brunetti. ”

The funeral will be conducted from the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, Saturday, June 11, at 10:30 am to St Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Brookfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial in Brookfield Central Cemetery will follow.
