*This weekend The William O’Neill Center, on the westside campus of Western CT State University, will be home to a show by THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND. The band is performing not only a concert for fans, but part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to NOW, Inc., a homeless shelter based in Meriden.

Tickets for the show are $17.50, $25, $30 and $45 apiece, with those holding the top-piced tickets also being given admission to the post-concert meet & greet with the bands. Opening the Friday night show will be Gene Donaldson and The Stingrays. Showtime is 7:30 pm, and tickets are available through the O’Neill Center’s box office (call 837-8499 for directions) or any TicketMaster outlet.

*Tuxedo Junction, in the CityCenter section of Danbury, will be presenting its Halloween party on Saturday, October 28 this year. If you’d like more information about the event, which will no doubt have something involving costumes as part of the festivities, contact the club at 748-2561.

This weekend the club is hosting its latest high school/teen night event. On Sunday, October 8, no one under the age will be admitted into the dance party and of course no alcohol will be served. Again, call the club if you need details.

*Monday night’s DE LA SOUL show at Toad’s Place in New Haven is an all-ages event, which I had not included in the calendar until now. Sorry about that oversight. Tickets are still available for $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. Showtime is 8:30 (which is clubspeak for 10).

Except for the Kooks & Spooks Halloween party on October 31, the remaining shows on the club’s calendar this month are all-ages events, as a matter of fact. This includes shows by NASHVILLE PUSSY & THE DICTATORS next Thursday, JURASSIC 5 and DILATED PEOPLES next Friday, and FUNKY METERS next Sunday.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you... on the road, still listening my way through the unprecedented 25 new releases from Pearl Jam.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks, c/o Bee Publishing Co., 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown 06470, or shannon@thebee.com. Include a phone number for confirmation, please. If you don’t have a stamp or a piece of paper or a writing utensil that works, give me a call! The phone number at the office is 426-3141. Shows listed on the calendar at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
