Pearl W. Dent

Active Danbury Resident And Businesswoman

Pearl W. Dent, 89, of Danbury, wife of the late George W. Dent, died at her home, November 3. She was born in Stratford, daughter of Mary (Tedlenko) and Nicholas Wairy.

She is survived by five children, including Amy Dent of Sandy Hook; as well as three sisters; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Dent worked with her husband and son in the family business, the former Dent Electrical Supply Company of Danbury, and had served as a former board member of the Scott Fanton Museum, as well as a former member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Danbury Republican Town Committee. She was a longtime member of the Danbury Rotary Club and Ridgewood Country Club.

She was a past recipient of The Cecil Previdi Good Scout Award for outstanding community service and was a master bridge player.

Funeral services take place at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street in Danbury, on Saturday, November 6, at 10 am. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call at Green Funeral Home, Friday evening, November 5, from 5 to 8 pm.
