Trinity Seymour To Welcome Its New Priest

SEYMOUR — On Sunday, September 13, Trinity Episcopal Church will welcome its new priest, The Reverend Dr Kristina Lewis.

Rev Lewis succeeds the Reverend Richard G.M. Chambers, who retired in 2007 after serving as the spiritual leader of Trinity for 18 years.

Rev Lewis was an assistant priest for four years in Barnstable, Mass., at St Mary’s Episcopal Church. Prior to her appointment at St Mary’s, Rev Lewis was assistant professor at St Michael’s College in Vermont. She graduated summa cum laude from The College of Charleston, and received her PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Florida in 1994. Rev Lewis was ordained a priest in January 2006.

The Rev Lewis will be Trinity’s 32nd rector and its first female priest.

Following the 10 am service on September 13, the parish will hold its annual picnic. This will give parishioners and the community the opportunity to meet and welcome the Reverend Dr Kris Lewis.
