Caitlin Weber (pictured) graduated from Albany Medical College on May 24, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree in family medicine, with a distinction in bioethics. Dr Weber graduated from Newtown High School in 2004. She began her medical residency in June at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge, in Austin, Texas.

Adam Margulies of Sandy Hook was among more than 750 students from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y., who made the college’s annual Dean’s List. Adam, a physics and mathematics major, is a 2008 graduate of the Loomis Chaffee School. To be named to the Dean’s List at the college, students must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the academic year and meet certain other requirements.

Renee Marie Solheim of Sandy Hook and a 2008 graduate of Newtown High School, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science from Siena College in Loudonville, N.H. While at the college, she was a presidential scholar, a recipient of the Grace Hoper Scholarship, which allowed her to attend the Grace Hopper Women in Computing Conference in Portland, Ore., a Saints orientation leader, a tour guide ambassador and the public relations chair on the Student Events Board. Renee is employed as a marketing coordinator for MoveThatBuck.com and BetBomb.com in Albany, N.Y.

Andrea Maret graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. She received the Ricketts Prize for maintaining a perfect academic record during her entire four years of study. She is now working as a process engineer at Dow Chemical outside Philadelphia.

Elizabeth Maret graduated from Connecticut College with honors in applied physics and Japanese. She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study in Japan.

The following Newtown residents were named to the Marist College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Dean’s List for the spring semester: Elizabeth O’Brien, a psychology/special education major; Kathleen O’Dell, a fashion merchandising major; and Jillian Thompson, a fashion merchandising major.
