ANDREW GELLERT of Newtown, a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School, is a sophomore guard at Harvard University and will be one of the main offensive and defensive forces for the Crimson in their run through the Ivy League schedule.

What follows is a brief of the 1999-2000 prospectus, box scores for the 1999-2000 season, and the individual statistics for the 1998-99 season in which the Crimson finished 13-13 overall, 7-7 in the Ivy League.

Notes from the 1999-2000 Harvard Team Prospectus:

Guard Andrew Gellert (4.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg) is a defensive stalwart who started the final six games last year and finished second on the squad in both assists (50) and steals (33). His versatility gives him playing potential at any of the three perimeter slots, although he’ll be asked to handle the point at least at the start of the season.

LIZ GLASER of Newtown, a 1997 graduate of Newtown High School, is a junior low-post player with the University of Rochester women’s basketball team and will be expected to give the Yellowjackets some quality minutes.

As a sophomore, Glaser average 6.4 points per game and 4.4 rebounds for the Yellowjackets, who finished 6-19 on the season.
